These terms cover ShogiGridBase: the site, the browser shogi board, the guide pages, and related materials. By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, the right move is simply not to use the site.

What this site is

ShogiGridBase offers free browser shogi with local AI play and guide pages that stay close to a live board. Local progress stays in your browser. Hints suggest a move when available, but they are practice aids, not a promise that a move is best or that a game will go your way.

The board follows standard shogi rules in software, but it is not a tournament arbiter and does not certify professional strength for the AI levels. Using the site does not create a professional, advisory, tutoring, employment, or coaching relationship. This is a game site, not a school-filter workaround and not an accredited course.

As-is availability

The site is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. That includes accuracy of hints, engine strength, completeness of guides, or uninterrupted uptime. We may change controls, rename pages, add or remove features, or take part or all of the site offline.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShogiGridBase and its operators are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the site. That includes lost local boards or recent games, time spent following a hint, device performance issues, or downtime.

Where liability cannot be fully excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us specifically to use ShogiGridBase in the twelve months before the claim (currently $0) or (b) USD $50, to the extent enforceable.

Acceptable use

• Play and practice for personal use
• No wagering — the AI is a practice opponent, not a rated title match
• Do not distribute malware, phishing, or cheat injectors
• Do not scrape for bulk dumps or republish substantial content as your own commercial product
• Do not misrepresent ShogiGridBase as a multiplayer lobby, multi-game portal, or 81Dojo product
• Do not use the site to break applicable law
